Common questions

If you trade in one state, a state mark may be enough. If you sell across state lines or online nationally, you want federal registration, which we do not file. We would rather tell you that than take $50 for the wrong tool.

It gives you a registered claim to the mark within that state, which helps in a dispute there. It does nothing outside the state and does not stop a federal registrant.

Registering a company name or a DBA is not a trademark. They are different systems with different rights, which is why plenty of businesses hold both.
