New York's LLC publication requirement

New York makes every new LLC publish in two newspapers its county clerk chooses, then file a certificate of publication. It catches out almost everyone who forms there.

What happens once you pay

  • Filed within one business day of your affidavits arriving
  • A specialist reads your order first. If anything looks wrong, we email you before filing, not after.
  • Rejected by the agency? We fix it and file again at no charge.
  • If we cannot get it filed at all, you get everything back, including the government fee.
  • Track it in your account with your email address. There is no password to invent.

State processing after that is the agency's queue, which runs from same day to a few weeks depending on where you are filing. We do not control it, so we do not promise a date for it.

Payment is handled by Stripe. Nothing is filed until payment clears, and government fees are refunded in full if we cannot file.

What you get

  • Certificate filed within one business day of your affidavits arriving
  • New York's $50 fee itemised separately, at cost
  • Newspaper charges are billed to you by the papers, never through us
  • We tell you which county's papers apply before you start

Filed in a day. One flat price. Nothing you didn't ask for.

  • Filed within one business day

One tier, one speed, every order. There is no rush fee here because there is no slow lane to buy your way out of.

  • A specialist reads every filing

Prepared and checked by someone who files these all day. If your name or address will not clear the state, you hear from us before it goes in.

  • Registered agent at $99, only if you want one

The lowest published rate of the five services we compare, sitting beside a free option to name yourself. Most people never need to buy it.

  • One price, and nothing starts on its own

$100 to form, $50 flat for every filing after. The only thing that can renew is a registered agent you chose, at the price you chose it for. No tiers, no trial that turns into a charge.

How it works

  1. Tell us about your business

Your exact total is on this page before you type anything, and nothing is charged until the last step.

  2. We prepare and file it

A specialist reads every order and files it within one business day. If something looks wrong, we email you before filing, not after.

  3. You get your documents

Confirmation, your stamped documents, and what to do next, in your inbox and your account as the filing moves.

Common questions

New York can suspend your LLC's authority to do business in the state until it is done. The obligation does not expire, so LLCs that ignored it years ago still have to publish before they can put it right.

Because the newspapers set their own rates and the county clerk chooses which papers you may use. Manhattan's designated papers are the most expensive in the state, which is why some owners use a registered agent address in a cheaper county at formation.

None of it. You pay the newspapers directly. Our $50 is for preparing and filing the certificate, and New York's $50 is the state's own fee.

No, the publication requirement is for LLCs. New York corporations do not have to publish.

Comparing us with someone else?

Good. We keep dated comparisons against the four biggest services, with every figure linked to the page we read it on and an honest note about where each of them beats us.
