South Carolina annual report requirements

South Carolina does not require an annual report from LLCs unless the LLC is taxed as a corporation, in which case the filing goes to the Department of Revenue with the tax return. There is no report for us to file and nothing to charge you for, which is why the order form for South Carolina declines the order. Verified with the South Carolina Secretary of State on August 4, 2026.

What happens once you pay

  • Filed within one business day of your order
  • A specialist reads your order first. If anything looks wrong, we email you before filing, not after.
  • Rejected by the agency? We fix it and file again at no charge.
  • If we cannot get it filed at all, you get everything back, including the government fee.
  • Track it in your account with your email address. There is no password to invent.

State processing after that is the agency's queue, which runs from same day to a few weeks depending on where you are filing. We do not control it, so we do not promise a date for it.

Payment is handled by Stripe. Nothing is filed until payment clears, and government fees are refunded in full if we cannot file.

South Carolina questions

There is no fee to pay. South Carolina does not require an annual report from LLCs unless the LLC is taxed as a corporation, in which case the filing goes to the Department of Revenue with the tax return.

Late consequences are set by South Carolina and range from a penalty to administrative dissolution, which means the state stops recognising your company until you fix it. The cost of being late is always higher than the cost of the report, and reinstatement is a separate filing with its own fee. We do not publish a penalty figure for every state because those change without notice; the South Carolina Secretary of State publishes the current one.

The report is about the company existing, not about what it earned. A dormant LLC with no revenue owes the same report as a busy one for as long as it is registered. If you are done with the company, dissolving it is what stops the obligation.

Government fees on this page were read from the South Carolina Secretary of State and last checked on August 4, 2026. States change them without much warning; we recheck all 51 on a schedule and your exact total is recalculated at checkout, so the number you pay is the number in force that day. FastBusinessFiling is a filing service, not a law firm or an accounting firm, and does not give legal or tax advice. You can file any of this yourself directly with South Carolina.
